10 teams are randomly drawn out of a hat and placed in the following positions in groups 1-2. Not only does this determine which team you should play against but it also denotes when you will play each match and how long your breaks are in between matches.

Teams play each other in a round-robin format (4 matches each) and then final positions are determined. The side that finishes 4th and 5th in each group plays in classification matches. The 2nd and 3rd play-off for a semi berth while the team that finishes top qualifies automatically for the semis:

The winners move into the semis while the tournament ends for those knocked out in the quarters.
